the beginning reminded me of "whatchawant" by the beastie boys , 3xosc style. wish it had more than those synths, but its a good track.

i like this mix. im pretty partial to good reverse drum fills. next time put the URLs to the tracks you remixed so I can compare this to the originals. keep up the good work man, making large strides.

I appreciate you taking the time to review my stuff, it's definitely helped me improve. I'm becoming quite a bit more confident, which is a good sign.

I like reverse drum fills myself, but at this stage they're a little hard for me to do, so I don't know how much I'll be doing them for the time being, but I'll definitely be practicing that technique. I need to start practicing with some sort of DJ software or something as well, because I'd love to add some scratches to some of my stuff. My beats using Reggae samples would benefit heavily from scratches, I think.

Cheers pal, I'd say this is the best game music ever, never got boring. I sometime fire up my old xbox and put this on and when I hear this I'm straight back into it. Best game ever in my opinion. I hear rumours of a remake which would be awesome.

Thanks! I think the reason it's taken me so long to remix this one is because I just couldn't find the right vibe. I got pretty lucky. I've seriously sat with this acapella in front of me and spent hours searching for a fitting sample with no results. Good to see that this one works!

good concept

i like this sound especially at 1:07. doesnt really mesh with the beginning too well, these would be good as two separated beats.

IMO the flange/phase on the violin is a little too wet at times, but it sounds good at the subtle parts. also, at :40 seconds the violin tempo goes faster than the drums. id also like to see some drum change ups, and maybe a different snare cause the one you got sounds like cheap clap.

but overall, i liked this. and i totally dig the fact that you get your samples from newgrounds,

yeah, my drums sound terrible...and the reason the snare sounds like a cheap clap is because that's exactly what it is(don't have any good samples for drums, so i use cheap, whack-ass VSTs)...as for the flange/phase, i kinda like it the way it is, although i can kinda see what you're getting at. drum change ups are something i'm still working on a bit, it's hard for me to get a different pattern without making the whole beat sound completely cheesy, if that makes sense, but anyway, i'm practicing that, and that's what your reviews are for :)

as for the samples, yeah, i love sampling from newgrounds. there's a lot of talent here, and it's great. and i figure, if i ever get good enough to gain a following, i can help other artists out by sampling their stuff. thanks a lot for the review, every bit of criticism you give helps. right at the moment i'm at that stage where it's kinda hit and miss as to whether i'll make something good or not..seems people liked Light it Up, but they're kinda iffy on my others since then..glad you keep up with my submissions though, it's really appreciated.

This track is superdope. If Newgrounds had category tags, this one fits not only in not only modern hiphop, but the dubstep, trance, ambient and videogame genres too. Im truely impressed.
